Technology makes teaching and learning process beautiful adventure. Different technologies have surfaced and technology tools have shaped how teachers pass instruction to students. Teachers do not only apply technology tools but students are also encouraged to maximise the tools for learning. Technology makes you do it better. How would teachers utilise technology effectively without having the skills? Show me a teacher who detests technology and I will show a teacher who dwells in 18th century.
Don’t be surprised, some teachers are not interested in applying technology to their teaching activities. They find other options to boycott the use of technology tools in the classroom. Have you met someone who usually says, “oh sorry, I’m bad with technology”
As a teacher, your best ideas can be effective when you acclimatise yourself with new technologies for learning. Already, it’s hard to be a teacher and it becomes more difficult when you ignore new technologies that should drive your teaching activities.
Covid-19 lockdowns came with difficulties for teachers who are not interested in using technology tools. Using new technologies to drive learning have come to stay, as a teacher you need to constantly update yourself with new technology tools that will make your job easy. Technology itself is not difficult; it’s how you apply it that may be challenging.
If you already use different technology tools for teaching, explore other safe technology tools to make your work easy. If you are yet to connect to the reality of educational technology, the current changes in the teaching world will make teaching difficult for you. If you are in the later, get some basic technology skills that will boost your teaching skills. Technology makes instructions easy and it will enable your students get the best of learning.
